Seal Heads

These Brazilian soapstone carvings (above and below) by Mike Tyler are of a seal heads. They are popular, and the ones you see here are sold. Commissions are of course possible.

Did you know that seals are capable of remaining underwater for up to two hours without needing fresh air? That's thanks to the amazing oxygen conservation abilities of pinnipeds.

Seals spend most of their life in the water, and they tend to be very awkward on land. They communicate by grunting and slapping the water, and their rear flippers are more developed than their fore flippers. In the water, seals move very sinuously, revealing themselves as animals well used to the marine environment.

Vitals: 15cm (6") tall; 20cm (8") wide.
